
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance footage on Friday of a man wanted for fatally shooting a man in Far Rockaway.
It happened at about 12:20 a.m. on Thursday while 42-year-old Johnny Ellis was walking on the corner of New Haven Avenue and Beach 19th Street, authorities said.
According to officials, the suspect discharged a firearm multiple times, striking Ellis in the torso, then fled the location on foot, traveling westbound on New Haven Avenue to parts unknown.
EMS transported Ellis to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
