NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance footage Wednesday of a suspect who allegedly set a homeless man on fire at the Penn Station subway stop this week, seriously injuring him.

The 56-year-old victim was sleeping aboard a northbound 3 train around 3 a.m. Monday when the train rolled into the station in Midtown.

When the doors opened at the stop, a man entered the train and set the victim on fire, then fled on another train, according to police.

EMS responded and transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Weil Cornell Medical Center for "significant" burn injuries, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
