NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a suspect who they say shoved a 72-year-old man onto subway tracks at the Herald Square station in Midtown on Sunday afternoon.

The victim was on the F platform around 12:15 p.m. when the suspect—clad in a hat and sunglasses—pushed him onto the tracks, the NYPD said.

The attack was entirely unprovoked, according to police.

No train was entering the station at the time, but the victim suffered injuries in the fall, including a laceration to his head and pain throughout his body, police said.

EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The suspect fled on foot and remained at large Monday.
