Suspect with knife sought in Lower Manhattan robbery pattern: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a man wanted in connection to a robbery pattern in Lower Manhattan, officials said.

The first incident reported to police occurred on February 28, at approximately 8:20 p.m. in front of 584 Broadway in SoHo, according to police.


The suspect approached a 51-year-old man, displayed a knife, and demanded the victim's property, authorities said.

The victim complied and the unidentified man fled on foot northbound on Broadway towards East Houston Street with the property.

No injuries were reported during this incident.

About an hour later, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the suspect approached a 21-year-old man on a staircase of the Bleecker Street "6" train subway station, displayed a knife, and demanded the victim's property, officials said.

The victim struggled with the suspect and sustained a cut to his hand who then fled on foot southbound on Lafayette Street.

No property was removed and EMS treated the victim at the scene.
