NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Over $100,000 worth of designer jeans were stolen from a lower Manhattan retailer over the weekend, and the NYPD is searching for the culprits.
Several men broke into the “Nudie Jeans Repair Shop,” located at 188 Bowery, near Spring Street, just after 7 a.m. on Saturday, four hours before it was set to open.
Police said that the burglars appeared to have broken the front glass door.
They stole 94 pairs of jeans according to the store, all worth about $1,200 each, meaning the retailer lost an approximate $112,800 in merchandise.
The lookout for the crime, a 19-year-old, was arrested.
Police are still searching for the additional suspects who made off with the apparel. An investigation is ongoing.
