NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The NYPD released images Tuesday of two suspects wanted in an attack on a bus rider, who was stabbed in the head with a knife mid-transit in the South Bronx earlier this month.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was riding a Bx19 bus at East 149th Street and St Ann's Avenue in Mott Haven on the morning of Feb. 15 when he and a group of people got into some sort of dispute around 8:40 a.m.
During the argument, someone in the group used a knife to stab him in the head, police said. Other members of the group then punched the victim repeatedly and used an object to hit him in the back.
Surveillance images from the NYPD show two suspects—a man and a woman—who are being sought. Their alleged role in the attack wasn't immediately clear.
The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
