NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A city public school teacher was arrested after a fight with a student at a Brooklyn school over the weekend, police said Tuesday.
Marquell Singleton, 30, was cuffed Monday on charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the incident happened Saturday and was reported Monday.
Singleton and the student got into a "verbal dispute" that "became physical," according to police.
Singleton allegedly slammed the 12-year-old to the ground at P.S. 178 Saint Clair Mckelway in Ocean Hill, WNBC reported.
Police said the student was in stable condition. News 12 reported that he hit his head and suffered a concussion.
