NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 17-year-old boy and 71-year-old woman were shot outside a deli in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, the NYPD said.
At 2:04 p.m. on Saturday, a shooting at 1925 Nostrand Avenue, or Lucky 7 Deli & Grill in Flatbush, wounded the two victims, officials said.
The 17-year-old was shot three times in the lower back and the older adult was shot once in the leg area, police said.
Authorities said that both victims were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
According to a report from the New York Daily News, the 17-year-old was shot in the back, buttocks and thigh, while the 71-year-old woman was hit in the foot by a stray bullet.
The Daily News interviewed Nader Ahmed, 29, who works at the deli. He told reporters that the teenage victim is a regular, and he came into the deli for help.
“After he jumped behind the counter, he was telling me, ‘Yo, I’m about to turn 18 in three days – don’t let me die!’ I was trying to put pressure on the wounds and wait until the ambulance came,” Ahmed told the Daily News.
