Police said no arrests have been made as they continue to investigate.

The teen's family told the Daily News that Jones was a "good kid" who no one would have a reason to target.

"Taquan went to Harlem Renaissance High School. He was in the 12th grade and just about to graduate," his 19-year-old cousin told the paper.

"We don't know who would do this. He doesn't do anything to anybody. He's not in any gangs. All he does is hang out with his friends and come home to his family," the cousin, Janila White, said, adding that he was getting back from school and with his friends when he was shot.
