Teen sisters stabbed in random attack inside Grand Central station on Christmas

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating after two teen girls were stabbed inside Grand Central Terminal’s dining concourse in a random attack on Christmas morning, authorities said.

Just before 11:30 a.m. officers found the the girls, ages 14 and 16, with stab wounds.

The teens were sisters visiting from South America were eating with their family at Tartinery Cafe when employees asked 36-year-old Steven Hutcherson, who was inside the restaurant without ordering, to leave, according to WABC-TV.

Hutcherson then pulled a knife and attacked the sisters, police said.

The sisters were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hutcherson was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

It is unclear if Hutcherson knew the victims before the stabbing or what the motive was.
