NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The pandemic has devastated many businesses, but for African American-owned businesses, it has been even worse, with 41 percent closing permanently.
In light of this, The Lonely Entrepreneur, a nonprofit organization headed by President Ebony Young, set out to launch a nationwide initiative to mobilize 100,000 Black entrepreneurs.
Young spoke to 1010 WINS anchor Larry Mullins about a new program called "The Black Entrepreneur Initiative," a broad coalition of Black community leaders, philanthropist, educators, clergy and businesses leaders who are united behind the mission of creating immediate change in the Black community and making sure that people of color have the knowledge, tools and support they need to start and/or scale in the midst of this crisis.
