The food court, called UrbanSpace on 100 Pearl Street in the Financial District, houses 16 small businesses and just opened in late June.

Early Wednesday around 3:30 a.m., two thieves broke into the space and stole cash from safes and registers, according to ABC 7.

The suspects broke into a locked office somehow, where they found keys to the businesses, stealing hundreds of dollars from separate eateries.

"Smalls businesses just starting up, for most small businesses we're just making it, we're just trying to grow the business," Lawrence Mach, who owns Senshi Ramen and Coney Shack told ABC 7.

Some of the business owners told the outlet they believe it was an inside job because the burglars seemed to know certain information about the facility.

Police are investigating the incident and have retrieved surveillance video from the scene which shows the two suspects in action.
