NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a pair of thieves accused of stealing a sleeping man's phone on a Bronx 1 train then racking up charges with Apple Pay last week, authorities said Friday.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, in the vicinity of the Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street subway station aboard a northbound 1 train, a 27-year-old man was asleep and approached by the suspects who took his cellphone.
The suspects fled on foot to parts unknown.
The victim realized later in the day that the suspects made purchases using his Apple Pay without authorization.
