NEW YORK (101 WINS) -- Police are searching for thieves who stole two women's handbags and knocked them to the ground just minutes apart in Manhattan, Tuesday night.
The first attack occurred at around 8:30 p.m. at East 65th Street and Third Avenue, on the Upper East Side.
A 38-year-old woman was approached from behind by two men and struck in the head, before they fled with her bag, authorities said.
A 25-year-old woman was robbed in a similar manner just five minutes later, at East 65th Street and York Avenue, police said.
The victim was walking her dog when the two men jumped out of a vehicle and attacked her, police sources told the New York Post.
Both victims were not seriously injured and refused medical attention.
It is unclear whether the two attacks are linked, but an investigation is ongoing.
