NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Many residents took to social media to post the videos of highways streets and subways that were flooded out when a thunderstorm pounded the city on Thursday.

A video posted to Instagram showed several people trying to maneuver through a flooded MTA station.

One video shows water gushing down the staircase of the 149th Street subway station in the Bronx.

In another video, a man can be seen on a jet ski through a flooded street.

The NYPD advised residents to avoid the Major Deegan Expressway near 179th Street due to severe flooding. Officers rescued operations utilizing a barrier truck to remove stranded motorists from their vehicles.
