NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The entire board of TIME’S UP— including Shonda Rhimes and Eva Longoria — are stepping down due to a leadership “crisis” relating to the allegations against disgraced former governor Andrew Cuomo, the nonprofit announced this weekend.

The charity organization has been gripped by scandal after it was reported that its leadership had worked with a top aide to Cuomo after former staffer Lindsey Boylan accused him of sexual harassment last year.

TIME’S UP CEO Tina Tche announced last month that she would be resigning over her role in that consultation. But the nonprofit said in a statement it would be doing more internal reconstruction to return to “remain in service to this seismic, global work to demand equity and disrupt systems that foster discrimination, harassment and abuse.”

“We see the current crisis within TIME’S UP as an important opportunity for growth and change,” the group said. “TIME’S UP is ready for new leadership, and we want to move forcefully toward its new iteration.”

Under the leadership of interim CEO Monifa Bandele, all members of the group’s board will step down over the next 30 days, TIME’S UP said.

Only four existing board members — Colleen DeCourcy, Raffi Freedman-Gurspan, Ashley Judd and Gabrielle Sulzberger — will remain to facilitate the transition.

The nonprofit was founded in 2018 to support victims of sexual abuse in the wake of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein and the Me Too movement.

“TIME’S UP belongs to all women,” the organization said. “Its mission must continue – until we live in a world in which no woman ever needs to say #timesup again.”
