NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade is back on after organizers had announced it's cancelation last week.
Tompkins Square Park Dog Run organizers last week announced that after 32 years, the parade would be cancelled due to complications with permits and rising costs.
Parade organizers have partnered with Get Joy, a Connecticut dog wellness company to ensure that this NYC institution continues.
The parade is now scheduled to take place on October 21, from 1-3 p.m.
"Huge thank you to getjoyfood for saving New York City's most iconic dog parade. We also want to thank Mayor Eric Adams and Councilwoman Carlina Rivera for quickly jumping into action!!" the Tompkins Square Park Dog Run posted on Instagram.
Get Joy posted, "When we caught wind of the cancellation, we just had to step in and help! At Get Joy, our mission is to create joyful moments in the lives of dog families with a total wellness approach that supports dogs' mind, body and spirit. This parade perfectly aligns with that mission."
