Tractor-trailer driver crashes into Queens subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A truck driver hit the 61st Street subway station in Woodside on Thursday.

The tractor-trailer smashed into the overpass of the elevated station around 4:30 a.m. at 62nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue.

The trailer was mangled in the crash, but no injuries were reported, police said.

The operator of the truck remained at the scene, according to cops.

Service on the 7 line and LIRR was operating normally at the station after the crash.

There's already a large construction presence at the station, which is undergoing major renovations as part of an MTA infrastructure project.
