Transgender woman punched in face by Queens mugger, 'You're not supposed to be on the streets!'

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A transgender woman was punched in the face last week by a purse-snatcher in Queens who hurled anti-gay remarks.

The 33-year-old victim was walking in front of 80-04 Roosevelt Ave. in Jackson Heights when a man approached her around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

"You’re gay! You’re a f****t!" the man screamed at the woman, police told the New York Daily News. "You’re not supposed to be on the streets!"

Cops said he then slugged her in the face and ran off with her purse.

The attacker fled on foot, westbound on Roosevelt Avenue. The victim was treated at the scene.
