Trio punches woman, steals her dogs in broad daylight on Bronx street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A trio of dognappers punched a woman on a Bronx street earlier this month before stealing her pets, and the NYPD released photos of the suspects on Wednesday in hopes that somebody recognizes them.

It happened at 11 a.m. on Aug. 1 in front of 1461 Southern Blvd. in the Charlotte Gardens section of the Bronx, police said.

A 42-year-old woman was with her dogs when she became engaged in a verbal argument with three strangers.

She tried to exit the situation but was followed by the trio, who punched her several times before forcibly removing both of her dogs. The 42-year-old sustained injuries to her face but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspects fled southbound on Southern Boulevard, police said.
