NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage Monday as they look to identify a trio wanted for beating and robbing a sleeping passenger aboard a subway train in Manhattan last week.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, a 32-year-old man was sleeping on a southbound 4 train as it traveled into the 14th Street - Union Square station.
While asleep, he was approached by the group of suspects who began to repeatedly punch the sleeping victim across his body, police said.
The attackers then stole his cellphone and attempted to rip the watch off his wrist before fleeing the station in an unknown direction.
EMS transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
