TRIPLE SHOOTING: 2 killed, 1 wounded in Inwood by gunman in ski mask

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Two men were killed and a third was wounded when a shooter in a ski mask gunned them down near a subway station in Inwood on Sunday night, police said.

The triple shooting happened shortly before 11:40 p.m. at West 207th Street and 10th Avenue, near the 207th Street 1-line station. Witnesses described hearing about a dozen rounds.

A 44-year-old was shot in the face; a 40-year-old was shot in the chest; and a 37-year-old was shot in the leg, police said.

EMS transported all three victims to area hospitals, two in critical condition and the third in stable condition.

The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. The 40-year-old died at New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital.

Police haven't released the dead men's names as their families are notified.

It wasn't immediately clear if all three men were targeted or if some were bystanders.

The suspected shooter fled on foot towards West 206th Street, police said. He was wearing a ski mask and dressed in all black.

No arrests had been reported as of Monday.
