NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Eric Adams will meet with President-elect Donald Trump Friday at Mar-a-Lago to discuss how the pair "can move our city and country forward," City Hall announced Thursday night.

The meeting between Adams -- who has been charged with bribery and fraud in a federal corruption investigation -- and Trump comes three days before the Queens native' presidential inauguration.

"Mayor Adams has made quite clear his willingness to work with President-elect Trump and his incoming administration on behalf of New Yorkers — and that partnership with the federal government is critical to New York City's success," Adams' deputy mayor for communications Fabien Levy said.

Levy added that Adams "will sit down with President-elect Trump and discuss New Yorkers' priorities. The mayor looks forward to having a productive conversation with the incoming president on how we can move our city and country forward."

The meeting with Trump -- who will have the authority to pardon Adams and said he would "look" at doing so -- follows Adams' meeting last month with incoming border czar Thomas Homan, a native of Upstate New York. Adams said the pair shared "the same desire" to go after undocumented immigrants who had committed crimes in the city.

And at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation in December Trump said he and Adams have a bond of sorts: "We were persecuted, Eric. I was persecuted, and so are you, Eric."
