NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Manhattan grand jury investigating hush money paid on former President Donald Trump's behalf will take a break after April 5 and resume its investigation later that month, according to multiple reports.
It is unclear whether the grand jury will rehear the Trump case before April 5, a source told CNN.
A source told Politico that the grand jury, which meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, is scheduled to hear another case next week on Monday and Wednesday, and is not expected to meet on Thursday due to the Passover holiday.
The panel did meet Monday, and a longtime Trump friend and potential key witness in the investigation was seen leaving the building where the grand jury has been meeting.
Trump himself has ratcheted up anticipation that an indictment could be near by posting on his social media platform that he expected to be arrested imminently. His representatives later said that they had not received any such indication on timing from Manhattan prosecutors.

The Manhattan district attorney's office, which is leading the investigation, has taken several steps seen as signaling that it could be close to wrapping up, including inviting Trump to testify.
The break would push any indictment of the former president to late April at the earliest, though the grand jury's schedule is subject to change, Politico noted.
The grand jury, convened by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in January, has been investigating Trump’s involvement in a $130,000 payment made in 2016 to porn actor Stormy Daniels to keep her from going public about a sexual encounter she said she had with Trump years earlier. Trump has denied the claim.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office didn't immediately respond to the reports.
