NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — After Mayor Bill de Blasio canceled the Trump Organization’s contract with a city-owned Bronx golf course, Trump took a swing against him Tuesday comparing it to a communist act in a blistering statement.

"Mayor De Blasio wants to take it away after all of the work was so successfully done, and so much money was spent," Trump said. "So unfair—this is what happens in Communist Countries, not in America!"
A week after the deadly riot, De Blasio ended contracts with the Trump Organization saying, at the time, that the "leadership of the company is engaged in criminal activity we have the right to severe the contract."
Now with a plan to find a new operator to manage the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the South Bronx, Trump is firing back.
"I took a longtime scandal-ridden site in the Bronx, which for almost 30 years had been a money-losing disaster that the city could not get built, and transformed it into a magnificent Jack Nicklaus Signature designed golf course, club house and amenities, which employs a large number of people and has been a showcase of beauty and success."
Trump claimed he invested "millions of dollars, all cash" into the course, adding that he recently opened a beautiful $10 million clubhouse to "rave reviews."
De Blasio's administration has sought to cancel other contracts, including its Central Park ice skating rinks and a carousel, with the company — who, along with its CFO Allen Weisselberg, face criminal tax fraud charges.
Then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg awarded the Trump Organization a 20-year contract to run the golf course in 2013, first opening in 2015.
New York City had planned to grant a company that operates homeless shelters, though it withdrew its contention after a report by The City first exposed the possible deal.
