Victim rushed to hospital after falling through Bronx sidewalk cellar doors

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital on Friday afternoon after falling through sidewalk cellar doors in the Bronx.

It happened at the Bilco doors in front of 5616 Broadway, located near West 232nd Street in Kingsbridge, at about 2:20 p.m., the FDNY said.

Officials said that the victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital for treatment.

Citizen App video shows fire and EMS officials moving what appears to be an injured man onto a stretcher in front of open cellar doors. The victim is then wheeled toward an ambulance.

The pedestrian’s exact injuries were not immediately clear, but they are non-life-threatening, according to the FDNY.

An investigation is ongoing.
