VIDEO: Man stabs Brooklyn fruit vendor with screwdriver in unprovoked attack

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A fruit vendor was stabbed with a screwdriver in an unprovoked attack on a Brooklyn street this week, police said.

The NYPD released video Friday showing a man plunging the screwdriver into the 33-year-old victim’s shoulder in broad daylight.

The victim was restocking fruit at Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street in Fort Greene just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was assaulted by the man.

Video shows the victim being attacked from behind at his fruit stand.

The suspected stabber fled toward Fort Greene Park after the assault, according to police.
