NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Lower East Side deli worker was beaten with a bat and robbed, police said Wednesday as they released new surveillance video of the attack and two suspects.
The 65-year-old worker confronted the two men at the deli at Grand and Henry streets after they stole a case of Coors Light shorty before 5 a.m. last Friday, police said.
The worker followed the men outside, where they began punching and kicking him, according to police.

One of the men grabbed a bat from the worker and struck him multiple times with it, police said.
The second man then went behind the counter and stole packs of Newport cigarettes worth $450 before the two of them fled, according to police.
The worker suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his head and body. He was treated by EMS at the scene.
The suspects were last seen heading eastbound on Grand Street, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
