VIDEO: Necklace thief attacks woman walking dog in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man attacked a woman, chased her into the street and pulled off her gold necklaces as she was walking her dog in Queens on Tuesday, surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows.

The 26-year-old woman was walking her dog with another woman in front of a home on Bleecker Street, near Seneca Avenue in Ridgewood, around 9:30 a.m. when the man rode up on a bicycle and tried to grab her necklaces, police said.

When the woman resisted, the man got off his bicycle, chased her into the street and attacked her, the NYPD said.

The woman was forced to drop her dog's leash as she fought off her attacker, leaving the pup alone in the street, surveillance video shows.

The man managed to flee the scene with the woman's necklaces, which were worth around $1,100, police said.

The attack left the woman with scratches on her neck and back, but she refused medical attention, the NYPD said.

Police are now searching for the man who attacked her. He was last seen carrying a brown book bag, riding a bicycle and wearing black shorts, a black T-shirt and glasses.
