NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A crew of smash-and-grab thieves stole $50,000 in handbags and other merchandise from the Givenchy in SoHo in the city’s latest high-end heist, police said Friday.
The NYPD released video of the four crooks using a hammer to smash their way into the French luxury fashion boutique at 94 Greene St. around 7:30 a.m. last Saturday.
After entering the store through the shattered front door, they swiped handbags, shoes and clothing, police said.
They stuffed the loot into duffle bags and then fled northbound on Greene Street towards West Houston Street.
The value of the stolen merchandise is $50,000, police said.
