NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man accused of breaking an 83-year-old woman's elbow during a mugging in Queens over the weekend.
Officials said at approximately 5:17 p.m. the victim was walking on the sidewalk in front of 112-01 Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills when the unidentified man exited a dark-color SUV.
The suspect approached the victim, grabbed her purse and threw her to the ground, according to authorities.
He fled the scene in the dark-color SUV with the victim's purse, which contained $50, ID, bank cards, and an iPhone, officials said.
The victim suffered a broken elbow and EMS transported her to New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Queens in stable condition, where she was treated.
Police on Monday released surveillance footage of the suspect in an unsuccessful attempt to use one of the victim's bank cards at a bodega located at 187 East 167 Street in the Bronx.
