NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man pushed a 71-year-old woman to the ground as he tried to rob her on a Bronx street, but he ultimately fled empty-handed after the woman yelled for help, police said Thursday.
The man came up to the woman in front of 3453 Boston Rd. in the Williamsbridge section around 7 p.m. last Friday, according to police.
The man pulled an unknown object from his pants pocket and demanded the victim give him cash, police said.

Video shows the man grabbing the woman and then forcing her to the ground between two parked cars.
Police said the woman began yelling for help and the man ran off southbound down Boston Road.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her left knee, shoulder and wrist. She was treated at Montefiore Medical Center.
