WATCH: Thief steals wallets, cash from worshippers at Queens Mosques

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a man captured on video stealing wallets from worshippers at two different mosques in Queens.

The first incident occurred at approximately 7:30 hours on February 23, officials said.

According to police, the suspect entered Jackson Heights Islamic Center Mosque, located at 71-20 Roosevelt Avenue, and removed a wallet from a parishioner's coat containing multiple credit and debit cards as well as $1,200 in cash.

At approximately 9:10 p.m. on April 3, authorities said the suspect entered the Masjid Al Taufiq Mosque, located at 41-02 Forley Street in Elmhurst, and removed a wallet from a parishioner's coat which contained $80 in cash and credit cards.

At least one of the victim's credit cards was used to purchase MetroCard(s), lottery tickets, and food, officials said.
