Week-old girl found dead in Bronx apartment building

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating the death of a 1-week-old girl found in an apartment building in the Bronx Friday morning.

At around 6:40 a.m., emergency teams responded to a call for a cardiac arrest at the Morris Houses in the vicinity of Washington Avenue near East 171st Street in Claremont, according to officials.

The baby was found unconscious and unresponsive. She was rushed to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, cops said.

An investigation into the infant's death remains ongoing.
