Woman, 19, slashed with boxcutter during Bronx subway robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man slashed a 19-year-old woman with a box cutter during an attempted robbery Thursday afternoon in a Bronx subway station, according to police.

The would-be thief approached the woman around 12:15 p.m. on a northbound 6 train at the Parkchester station in Union Port, officials said.

He demanded her watch and phone and proceeded to slash her arm and chin with a boxcutter, according to authorities.

He then fled without taking any of her property, police said.

The NYPD is investigating the incident and police have not yet made any arrests.
