NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities are investigating after a 22-year-old woman was shot in the head on Staten Island early on Friday morning.
The shooting happened at approximately 12:25 a.m. on Brook Street in Tompkinsville, according the NYPD.
EMS transported the woman to Richmond University Medical Center, officials said.
She was conscious, alert and talking when emergency responders arrived at the scene, sources told SILive.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
