NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she was randomly shoved into a train and fell onto the tracks at a Midtown subway station Wednesday afternoon, police said as they searched for her attacker.

A man pushed the 30-year-old victim into a departing E train just after 12 p.m. at the Fifth Avenue/53rd Street station.


She hit her head on the train car and then fell onto the tracks, according to police. Witnesses helped her get back onto the platform.

She suffered head trauma and was rushed by EMS to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she was in critical condition after surgery.

The at-large suspect is Sabir Jones, 39, a man who is known to the NYPD, officials said.
