NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old woman who was repeatedly stabbed outside of a lounge in the Bronx early Sunday morning.
The victim, identified as Pamela Almonte Cabrea, of the Bronx, was stabbed in the chest just after 4 a.m. outside Mama Dora at 28 East Kingsbridge Rd. in Kingsbridge.
Some sort of argument inside the bar preceded the stabbing and spilled outside, police said.
Almonte Cabrea died at NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln.
Police were investigating Sunday at the crime scene, which was a block long and littered with shattered glass, trash and a wig on the street.
No arrests had been reported as of Monday, but police were reportedly searching for a male suspect.
Residents said they were not surprised by the killing and that the area doesn’t have enough of a police presence.
"It's not safe out here, it's not safe nowhere," one man said.
"I think the Bronx just forgot about Kingsbridge," another resident said.
