NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 36-year-old woman was shot and killed blocks from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

The victim was gunned down around 10:20 p.m. at Carlton Avenue and Pacific Avenue in Prospect Heights.

Officers responding to a 911 call found the victim lying unconscious on the ground with a gunshot wound to her head.

EMS pronounced her dead at the scene. She hasn’t yet been identified.

A party was being held at the time of the shooting, and police are investigating whether she was a bystander or the intended target.

The shooting happened about two blocks from the Barclays Center, where the first round of the NBA draft was being held Wednesday night.
