NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman was shot and wounded as she waited for a bus in Brooklyn on Sunday evening, police said as they searched for the shooter.
Investigators believe the 39-year-old woman was a bystander, not the intended target, of the shooting around 7:40 p.m. at Church and Utica avenues in East Flatbush.

The victim was waiting for a bus outside a deli at the bustling intersection when shots rang out and a bullet struck her in the leg, police said.
She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests or other injuries were immediately reported.
