NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 47-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Queens early Saturday morning, and police are searching for the responsible motorist.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was crossing 150th Street at North Conduit Avenue in Kew Garden Hills at about 6 a.m. when the driver crashed into her.

Police said that she was in the crosswalk—steps away from Baisley Pond Park and across the way from John F. Kennedy International Airport—when she was struck. The driver never stopped.

EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where she died, officials said.

It was not immediately clear what type of vehicle the hit-and-run driver was in, and an investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
