NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A dead woman's body was found in a bag at her apartment on the East Side of Manhattan on Thursday afternoon, police said Friday.
The woman, who was identified as Nadia Vitel, was pronounced dead at the scene after NYPD officers came across her body during a wellness check.
The grisly discovery was made around 4:30 p.m. inside her apartment at 206 East 31st St. in Kips Bay.
Her body was found inside of a bag inside of a closet, according to multiple news reports.
Her family had contacted police because they hadn't heard from her in awhile.
The medical examiner will determine her manner of death, which at this point has not been deemed a homicide.
Sources tell 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that there does not appear to have been any physical injury to the body.
