NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman was raped inside of a Manhattan subway station early Friday morning, and police are investigating.
It happened at around 2 a.m. inside the Canal Street subway station near Lafayette Avenue in Chinatown, authorities said.
An unidentified man approached the 59-year-old woman on a stairwell near the 6 train platform, struck her and forced her to the ground, police said.
The survivor was transported to a local hospital by private means.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
