VIDEO: Woman, 77, pushed to ground by thief stealing Funko Pop figures from Barnes & Noble

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 77-year-old woman was injured after a thief knocked her over while stealing Funko Pops figures from a Manhattan Barnes & Noble, authorities said.

The incident happened Saturday around 12:20 p.m. at the Union Square Barnes & Noble store on East 17th Street, police said.

As the thief tried to leave the store with two stolen Funko Pop figures, he was stopped by loss prevention employees near the entrance, officials said.

The victim, who was entering the store, was pushed to the ground by the suspect as he was fleeing the scene, according to police.

Emergency workers transported the woman to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue after suffering a head injury from the fall and losing consciousness.

In total, the value of the stolen merchandise was $35. The suspect is described as being in his 20s, 5'3" tall, with a medium build, dark complexion, black hair, facial hair, last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, gray sneakers and a black bag.
