Woman, 83, thrown to ground by robber in Brooklyn 99-cent store

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 83-year-old woman was violently robbed of her purse inside a 99-cent store in Brooklyn, police said Tuesday as they released footage of the suspect.

The victim was in the discount shop at 1483 Nostrand Ave. in East Flatbush around 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 9 when a man grabbed her handbag from her shoulder, according to police.

He threw her to the floor as he stole the purse and fled out of the store, police said.

She was not seriously injured in the fall.

The suspect was last seen headed northbound on Nostrand Avenue with the stolen bag, which contained cash and a cellphone, according to police.
