NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 85-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in her Brooklyn home on Tuesday night, and a family member has been taken into custody for questioning, police said.
The victim—identified by police as Julia Boomer—was stabbed multiple times at her home on Throop Avenue, near Decatur Street, in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
NYPD officers responded to a 911 call from Boomer's daughter, who witnessed the attack, shortly before 10 p.m. and found her with stab wounds to her head and neck.
EMS rushed Boomer to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where she ultimately died from her injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the stabbing was the result of a domestic dispute.
A 22-year-old relative was being questioned in the case, police said. No charges were immediately announced.
Stunned neighbors said the victim lived in the neighborhood her entire life, was well liked and often went to church.
