NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD released surveillance footage Thursday of a woman they say attacked and pulled a knife on a 7-year-old boy in front of his mom at a Long Island City subway station.
The disturbing assault happened on the afternoon of Feb. 23 at the 21st Street–Queensbridge station, police said.
The boy and his 37-year-old mom were on the Manhattan-bound F platform at 12:40 p.m. when the woman came up and pushed the boy to the ground, according to the NYPD.
When his mom confronted her, she pushed the boy again—this time in the face, police said.
She then allegedly brandished a knife on both victims before fleeing the station.
She was last seen boarding a Q100 bus, police said.
EMS responded to the station and treated the boy, who suffered pain to his leg. His mom wasn't injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
