Woman dies weeks after being struck by mini-school bus at Queens intersection

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A 33-year-old woman died weeks after she was struck by a mini-school bus driver in Queens, authorities said Friday.

Vivianna Wolpe was struck a by a 71-year-old driver at about 6 a.m. on Nov. 17 while crossing the intersection of South Conduit Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, according to the NYPD.

The mini-school bus driver was driving east on South Conduit Avenue when he hit Wolpe and remained at the scene.

The driver was not immediately charged, police said.

Wolpe suffered severe injuries to her body and legs and was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday, officials said.

An investigation remains ongoing.
