NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two residents at a Midtown women’s shelter got in an argument that ended in a fatal stabbing Friday night, according to police.
The women were arguing on the sixth floor of the Project Renewal New Providence Women's Shelter on East 45th Street near Third Avenue around 9:53 p.m., officials said.
A 42-year-old woman allegedly stabbed the 27-year-old victim multiple times in the head, shoulder and thigh.
EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she was pronounced dead.
Police believe the women were roommates at the shelter.
The attacker had fled the shelter by the time police arrived, and no arrests have yet been made.
