NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 73-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle exiting a parking garage in Midtown last weekend, according to the NYPD.

At approximately 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck in front of 330 West 58th Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed Kathie Coblentz, 73, conscious and alert, with severe head trauma.

EMS transported her to Mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that a 31-year-old man driving a 2009 Honda Odyssey Minivan was exiting an underground parking garage located at 336 West 58 Street.

Coblentz was walking west, on the street, on the north side of the roadway when the vehicle struck her with the left side of the front bumper, causing her to fall backwards and strike her head on the pavement, authorities said.

The victim lived a few doors down from where the collision occurred, according to the police.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
